Grandpa Freddie

This picture was taken by my mom at a family reunion. They were camping and this was taken early in the morning, probably just before breakfast. I also picked this picture because it was my grandpa's birthday yesterday!

There is something about this picture I really like. I don't know if it is because he looks so old or because he looks so real. The wrinkles on his hand are so deep--from years of work. He looks honest.

I have so many pictures of people hiding their face because they don't want to have their picture taken, but as you can tell by his expression, that is not his intent. It looks like he just looked up as my mom called his name.
